About Dr. Jose Balseca

Experience across the clinic, classroom, and field of play.

Jose R. Balseca, DC, DACBSP®, ICSC is a clinician, educator, consultant, and speaker whose career has been shaped by one central goal: making complex information about injury, movement, and performance useful in the real world.

A connected career

Clinical reasoning is the thread that connects it all.

Dr. Balseca’s work spans sports medicine, higher education, private practice, professional consulting, and event coverage. That range gives him a practical perspective: the best answer is rarely just a diagnosis or a research finding. It is the ability to interpret the evidence, understand the demands in front of you, and communicate a plan people can act on.

As a board-certified sports chiropractor and International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic holder, he has spent his career evaluating musculoskeletal conditions, guiding rehabilitation, analyzing movement, and helping active people navigate the path back to participation and performance.

Academic leadership

Teaching the next generation of clinicians.

Since 2017, Dr. Balseca has served as an Assistant Professor at Northeast College of Health Sciences. His graduate-level teaching includes orthopedic diagnosis, rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, biomechanics, sports injury management, concussion care, and evidence-based clinical decision-making.

His academic work extends beyond the lecture hall through curriculum design, laboratory instruction, clinical competency assessment, doctoral-student mentorship, research activities, and professional presentations. He has also served as a Clinical Instructor with the University of Rochester’s medical education and family medicine programs.

Clinical & business experience

A decade of building, leading, and caring.

As founder and clinical director of Attune Sports Chiropractic in Pittsford, New York, Dr. Balseca built a practice centered on active care and individualized decision-making. His clinical focus included spine and extremity disorders, sports injuries, rehabilitation, running and golf biomechanics, conservative care, and return to sport.

Practice ownership also provided firsthand experience in healthcare operations, team leadership, patient communication, business development, and the everyday realities facing clinicians and organizations. Today, that perspective strengthens his work with attorneys, HR leaders, healthcare teams, and professional audiences.

The goal is not simply to identify a problem, but to create a useful path forward.

Beyond the credentials

An athlete, coach, educator, and father.
